I survived!
Well, once I survive tomorrow I’ll really be set, but I survived prep for tomorrow, and that makes me happy.
Tomorrow is doom. Two midterms, calc and chem. I also have ChemSkillBuilder due, and calc homework due. And we must not forget about the scholarship application!
But I survived. I got it all done, and I’m ready for the exams. Notecards are made, practice exams aced, all is going well.
Although calc still moderately intimidates me.

Sockeye is missing. I can only assume that he died earlier this weekend, and Sticky got him. Apple (or mystery) snails will eat dead fish. So that’s probably what happened.
No signs of ich on anyone else, so I don’t know what’s going on.
If it was NTD then the other tetras should have it, but if it was ich everyone should have it….

I have officially named my two little catfish Puma & Bob. They’re catfish, so it seemed only fitting. Puma (another name for cougar) is the one with less spots, and is mostly gold. Bob (short for bobcat) has spots down his sides, almost in stripe patterns.
Maybe I’ll get pictures up sometime.
Also, little Sockeye (the smallest of the tetras) has a nasty case of ich. I’m treating the tank now… We’ll see how that works out. It hasn’t seemed to spread to the rest of the tank yet, but because of the nature of ich, it might. I’m treating the tank, anyway.

Today I had my first orthodontist appointment. They told me I need braces… Like I didn’t already know.
So then we were scheduling my next appointment, and there was a problem…. They only put braces on in the mornings. Keep in mind I have class every morning, usually 3 classes. I told them that, so they made an exception.
I’ll be getting my braces in two weeks. But because of that they needed to do some of the prep today…
I got spacers. And dang, they’re sore! And I have to have them for 2 weeks, because they’re in Albany every other week. Usually it’s just one week. But due to my tight schedule it’s two weeks…. So they gave me extras and told me how to put them in.
I also got two new cories today at Petco.
They’re little ones… And I haven’t yet decided what to name them. I have ideas…. But we’ll see.

I’m sad…..
Obsidian, Pyrite, and Quartz died over the weekend. I was at Kento’s, so they were alone all day for the first time yesterday. The other tetras are fine, as are Cayenne and Sticky. I guess there was just something wrong with the blacks…. Can’t imagine what would have happened, but oh well… That’s life.
Well, there were plans to get more fish on Tuesday anyway…. I guess I’ll go for it.

I forgot to post that I named my fish. Sticky and Cayenne of course… And then the neon tetras are King, Coho, and Sockeye. The black neons are Obsidian, Pyrite, and Quartz.

I had a panini for dinner. Roast beef, provolone, cheddar, glazed onions, and mayo on focaccia. I’m watching Jeopardy, and there’s a category called Give me an “F”.
One of the clues (paraphrased)…. An italian bread used in making panini.
What is “my dinner”?

*dances around*
I get a 4-day weekend! :p
Well, not quite. I’ll work 1.5 hours today. I could probably choose not to, but I will.
Due to ice and freezing rain, campus is closed until 11:00! Yay! My only class today is 9:00-10:00.
Fortunately someone stopped me before I walked all the way to Kidder.

I’m one of the worst procrastinators ever, so of course I did my fish & wildlife stuff today, the last day of the grace period before penalties for doing it late.
But anyway, I’m annoyed with myself for procrastinating it now, because that was really cool! The first chapter of the book was about how adaptive salmon are, and the evolutionary history of their adaptations…. Well, it went into A LOT of the geologic history of the area, and that’s awesome! I knew quite a bit of it, but never thought about it in terms of the wildlife that was here…. And the salmon we have now went through all of that, and I find that fascinating! Very cool!
