Happy Thanksgiving?

Happy isn’t exactly the word that comes to mind.
Well, Wednesday was nice. My mom picked me up, we got Kento, went to dinner (CJ was closed), and then headed to my grandma’s.
It’s Thursday where the trouble started. The day started off fine. I watched the parade, and played on my computer a little. Things were OK. The cousins came, we played, we watched the parade, all was going well. Dinner went well. Delicious, and I ate too much.
It was after that when things headed downhill. I got really tired. I don’t think I even noticed, though Kento did. I was in a corner in the guest room, with him and Sammy (my youngest cousin). They were playing, and I was kind of watching, I guess.
When I got up I had a headache. I thought it was from getting up to fast. Maybe. I don’t know. I did a puzzle with my cousins, that was good.
Then everyone left. My mom went to see Rick, and everyone else went home. I stayed with my grandma. She was going to bring Kento and I to Salem in the morning, and meet my mom there.
We were both tired, and went to bed early. Later in the night I got up and threw up. Bad thing #1. I went back to bed and was fairly OK after that…. I didn’t throw up again, anyway.
In the morning I ate cereal and we went to meet my mom. My mom let me get a Sprite at Costco because I felt icky again.
After we went home I crashed on the couch. I watched the Civil War game, which was a really really good game. It’s a shame I was half out of it. By then I was running a fever over 100. Super close game…. Beavs pulled ahead with 15 seconds left. Awesome. I fell asleep afterwards. And I was really cold.
The rest of the weekend basically went like that. I was on the couch. I was sore, and cold, and didn’t feel well. That’s about it. Great break. :(

Early happy Thanksgiving!

Well, I’ve got 4 days off and I’m pretty happy! :)
My mom is on her way to pick me up. She just called and was stuck in traffic, but got off the freeway so things are better now. I was able to go online and find out Highway 34 is really bad right now, and had she stayed on I-5 that would have meant trouble getting into Corvallis. So now I’m just waiting. I’m supposed to be out of my dorm by 5:00, but I think if I really had to they’d let me stay in a little longer. So things are all right. :) Things are good. :p

Stuff

Let’s see…. Stuff.

Nothing terribly interesting has been happening. I took midterms, have those finished up. Got one A and two B’s. Not bad. I’m not complaining, that’s for sure. Two more weeks until finals! I’m going to try to get my sociology paper in Tuesday for extra credit… So that should be good.

There was a FW trip yesterday, and I went. One of the six people… Woohoo. It was a good trip though. We were with a wildlife pest management guy. He showed us bear damage and stuff. And a dead beaver… And nutria. Bears must have really big claws……….. Stating the obvious, I know, but some of those scratch marks were DEEP.

Besides that, not much has happened. Well, I guess one more thing…. FOOTsteps met for the last time last week. We met at the climbing center, climbed, and at pizza. Good times. I made it up one wall… One of the wall types I never made up before. So that was good.

Thanksgiving is soon! I’m excited. Two days off! Four day weekend! My mom is picking me up Wednesday, before my dorm closes for the weekend. And then after that dead week, finals week, and BREAK! :) It’s very exciting. But at the same time it’s sad. I’ll be back though, I’ll be back. ;)

Oh, so that’s what it does….

Ummm, I had a new experience today. Someone gave us scones at work, and I had one. I had a chocolate one… Which had espresso powder in them.

Needless to say, that was a new experience. The people who know me know I’m not a fan of any of those heavily caffeinated drinks (Coke, Mountain Dew, coffee, etc.). I have basically never in my life had very much caffeine…. Until today.

It took about 2 hours to really kick in, and that also happened to be when I was working the Krispy Kreme table for FW Club. After the initial laughing at basically nothing passed things were OK. Besides the fact that I was very fidgety. And they would only let me get one KK. So I wouldn’t overdose on hyper.
Math class was the worst though. I couldn’t stop moving around, and by the time I got out of there I was about ready to burst. I think I made record time from class to work. I couldn’t get myself to run, but I still moved pretty fast, at least in comparison to my usual self.
At work I was able to calm down a little…. The first hour was a bit fidgety for me, but then I kind of crashed. And became really tired.

So that’s what caffeine is like… I’m a caffeine light-weight. It was definitely a caffeine high. It’s what I imagine being intoxicated is like.

*blinks* Wha? Wha.. Wha… What just happened?

That…. Was…. So…. Close…. So…. So…. Close………… UGH!

OSU played basketball again tonight, and we started off pretty bad…. Always lagging behind, at one point by 10 points.
Then…. In the last few minutes they pulled ahead again. The Southeastern Louisiana Lions.
We were in possession of the ball, Three seconds left…. For the tie… And… And…. They missed. We lost. SO SO CLOSE! But we lost. We were ahead for a while, but we lost it. So….. So very close.

We should start a Cars fan club

Seriously. I watched Cars again tonight down in the lounge, and there were a few people that were back from last night also. We are now proposing that we watch it again tomorrow night, and maybe Sunday.
Needless to say, we’re addicts.

Megan says she can’t send it back until Monday anyway (she got it from Netflix)… Soooo………

O-S-U!

Yay! :)

I went to my first college sports event as a full-time student tonight! And it was SO MUCH FUN! It was just a basketball game against Portland, meaning of course we won, but it was great. :) The Oregon Rain Invitational is this weekend so I’ll probably be going to a couple more games. :) I have tickets to them all. And the Beaver Dam seats are awesome. Essentially front floor seats… Can’t get much better than that!

MATOR! :)

Mator is the best!

Man, we had fun watching Cars! :) I think several of us will be back tomorrow (or today, I suppose) to watch again. I can’t get enough of that movie…. Mator is my role model!

Life’s simple pleasures

I’m happy so very very easily. It’s awesome!

Well, starting with the midterm isn’t the best way to start the day, but such things happen. Like today, for example. But since I finished it in about a half hour I got to come back to my dorm for a bit before work. That’s kind of nice. Eat a honey bunches of oats breakfast bar… Get online…. That’s not a bad thing.

At work I didn’t do much… Work has been going well. They’re starting to send me out on easy/medium tasks. Yesterday I installed some software, and today I got a scanner set up to scan to the computer. Well, scanner/copier/printer…. That’s three times bigger than me. But I got it to scan to the computer, so that’s good. That’s just about all I did…. Mark showed me how to do a standard build, which was a good thing.
COSINe gets kind of slow a lot, so Jerod asked if I would object to helping someplace else too…. Helping put stuff on the website. My thoughts: being paid to work with HTML? Sounds awesome! So I may do some of that in the coming times.

After work I had Carl’s Jr. for lunch. Mmm… Carl’s Jr….. Delicious.

Also for the first time today I got free student tickets! I have three tickets for this weekend… It’s the Rain Invitational here in Corvallis and I’m all set to go! :) Well, to some of the games anyway. I wont make it to all 6, and probably not even to the 5 I can go to… One is during work tomorrow, so that isn’t going to happen. but it’s also not an OSU game, so that’s OK by me. ;)

Chem recitation was…. Well, it was chem recitation. The quiz was alright…. I’m thinking I got 100%, but I’m not positive. I have on all the quizzes so far though…. And the lowest score is dropped, so whatever. :p

After that I came back to my dorm…. I got dinner at the country store. I find it funny that they sell Lunchables, but I bought one anyway. :p They also sell Honey bunches w/ Almonds, which aren’t as good as the plain ones, but oh well. I can buy them on my meal plan, and that’s what matters! I also got double-stuffed oreos….. Life is good.

I’m excited because Cars is showing down in the lounge later tonight. And tomorrow night too! So I’m going…. Both times…. I LOVE Cars. Great great great movie. Can’t wait for the 2-disc DVD to come out so I can get it!

And finally…. The simplest pleasure of all. I got one of those fun sized candies in my lunchable. :p It was Starburst. And I got an orange and… A strawberry! :) I was very happy.

Life’s simple pleasures. Sometimes the simplest are the ones that make your day….. A strawberry starburst! :)

Where have you been, old friend?

Rain! Glorious rain! Real rain! Not just a light drizzle or a sprinkle…. RAIN! :)

There was a great rain on the way to chem recitation…. Those not knowledgeable in Oregon might call it a downpour. We call it rain. It was a good rain though. Nice big drops. I went out with my hood on, but couldn’t resist…. I had to feel it. But I left my hat on, so I guess I didn’t really feel it…. Though I was looking up so my face got rained on and it felt wonderful.

Rain, you have been missed. Where have you been? A month late…. Over a month late…. But I’m so glad to see you!
